She has built a career as a artist puppeteer for 19 years . Graduated in Scenic Arts by the Institute of Artsof the University of São Paulo and Master of the University .
With the Duo Anfíbios, we realized big tours in various countries like: Argentine, Bolívia, Brazil, Spain, France, Italy, Lettony, Switzerland, Tcheck Republic, Corea. Colombia, Mexico.
In 2008, she was invited by the International Institute of the Puppet in Charleville-Mézières, France, to do a residency as researching artist, with the giving of a scholarship. The principal theme of theresearch was the construction techniques and manipulation of puppets for solists. Immediately after the residency, Juliana Notari settled in the city of Strasbourg to continue her researches in the art of the puppets inside of the Master’s program of the Strasbourg University, where she lived for 4 years.
She is the creator of the project “Old Boxes” (a series of minishows of puppets that talk about old age).The shows were created in 3 stages: inside the stage “Why use puppets?” with the English puppeteer Gavin Glover which happened in the International Institute of the Puppet; in two periods of creative residencies with the duration of a total of 5 months living in in the region of Rhone-Alpes, organized by the Grenoble Festival of Puppets. With this project, received the award of “Better Experimentation in the arts of puppets”in the World Festival of Puppet Art Prague 2009. In 2012, when she came back to live in Brazil, she founded the Coletivo de Ventiladores. A collective which looks for the inter-relations and the inter- territories in the arts, amplifying the possibilities of the puppets and their forms. In 2014, they directed the Rotas I – FestivalInternational and Contemporay of Animated Forms, with the first edition in the city of Assis.
She is currently a cultural promoter and curator of the Condominio Cultural, São Paulo, Brazil.
